Psycho Killers, Talking Heads tribute, prepare for annual Valentine’s show at Ram’s Head Live with special guest Marco Benevento
Saturday, February 11th; Baltimore, MD
On Saturday, February 11th, Psycho Killers, a tribute to Talking Heads, will host “An Evening of Talking Heads and Assorted Love Songs” at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live! In addition to their repertoire of Talking Heads classics, the annual Valentine’s show finds the band taking on “love” songs from other artists. Think Could You Be Loved (Bob Marley), Power of Love (Huey Lewis), Loving Cup (Rolling Stones), and Debra (Beck), just to name a few they have performed over the years. “We are always thinking of ways to make our shows new and exciting for our fans and the Valentine’s show went so well a few years back, we have continued the tradition,” said Ryan Porter, bassist for Psycho Killers. “There are so many Talking Heads songs that are based on “love”, so Valentine’s just seems to be the perfect time for this type of show.”
This year the show moves to Rams Head Live from the 8×10 Club where it has been the past few years. “The demand has been incredible for these shows and when we had the opportunity to get Marco Benevento on the bill, it seemed to make sense to move to a bigger room” added Porter. For those not familiar, Marco Benevento has made a name for himself by playing in numerous projects including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, G.R.AB. (featuring members of Phish), Benevento Russo Duo and Bustle In Your Hedgerow. Benevento is currently on tour with his trio and will be opening up the night with his eclectic blend of psychedelia, funk and jazz.
Psycho Killers have played Rams Head Live before, but they are looking forward to getting back in a headlining spot with the ability to bring their own unique production for the show. Think additional lights, projections and Valentine’s decorations.
