Ed Wynne – Shimmer Into Nature

Released January 25, 2019

Here at Ragin’ Randy Entertainment, we are ecstatic over the release of Ed Wynne‘s debut solo record, Shimmer Into Nature. Ed Wynne‘s musical career has spanned over 35 years, and he is considered by many to be one of the founders of modern psychedelic music. Wynne is primarily known as the founder of Ozric Tentacles, which originally blossomed out of a campground jam session at the Stonehenge Free Festival in 1983. Since that time, Wynne has toured and traveled around the world and back again with the Ozrics and various related side projects. The Ozrics world of fans has been well aware of Wynne’s plan to release his debut solo record, and we have waited anxiously for its release.

Kicking off 2019 with a bang, the album was released on January 25, 2019 on KscopeShimmer into Nature was recorded and inspired by the different locations Wynne traveled to over three years, from deep in the Colorado Mountains, to the coastlines of Cornwall and South Devon, before being completed on Scotland’s East Coast by the Firth of Forth.

Here’s what the man himself had to say about the record:

“The idea is to transport the listener to a place where the everyday ups and downs of the world dissipate, leaving the mind free to wander through a colourful, omnidirectional  guitar and synth driven musical landscape for a while, landing eventually, hopefully freshly charged, with a smile and a calmer spirit.”
