Cris Jacobs – Dust To Gold

Cris Jacobs, one of Baltimore’s favorite hometown heroes, has just announced the release of a brand new solo record! Here is the message he gave to his fans on Facebook earlier this week:

I am thrilled to announce that I will be releasing my new record, “Dust to Gold”, on October 21, through American Showplace Records. The record features 12 new songs, and the fantastic band of Dusty Ray Simmons on drums, Todd Herrington on bass, and John Ginty on Hammond B3 organ and keys, along with some very special guests. We’ll be hitting the road this fall to get this music in your ears and hands. I am very proud of this one and can’t wait for you all to hear it. Thanks to Christopher Kelleher for the amazing cover art. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for sneak previews, pre-order information, and other fun stuff.

Aside from his solo work, Cris Jacobs is also a founding member of The Bridge, another Baltimore fan favorite, who continues to perform on occasion for special shows. Cris and his band were also a part of this year’s inaugural Merryland Festival, at which they took the opening slot on the Main Stage on Sunday, July 10. Cris has been working dilligently to find the perfect lineup for his solo band, and it seems that he has landed on one that will last. Check out my interview with Cris Jacobs, live from Merryland Festival, below!
